An extensive extended journey circling the Australian Coast is being halted following the tragic passing of an older female passenger who was abandoned by the ship on a distant tropical isle.

The elderly woman had been walking on Lizard Island with shipmates from the Coral Adventurer, but separated from the group for a pause. The liner left without her and returned after some time after the personnel realised the lady was not present.

An extensive search operation located her body the following day.

Authorities are looking into the event, alongside law enforcement and the medical examiner.

Chief Executive of the shipping company stated that travelers and crew on the ship were informed that the remainder of the voyage had been terminated due to the "sad loss and earlier mechanical issues".

Through an announcement, he mentioned that passengers would be issued a full refund, and said the organization was working "to organize the return journeys of the travelers via private aircraft".

Officials also published an latest statement, and said they had "delivered a notice to the Commander" banning any further travelers from entering the liner.

The spokesperson said that they would inspect the liner in the Australian city upon its coming back.

The vessel first departed Cairns on the 24th of October, and was merely two days into the journey at the point of the elderly woman's passing. The tropical location was the initial destination on the itinerary.

The child of the elderly passenger said that her family was "surprised and distressed that the vessel left the island after an organised outing without my mum".

"From the little information we have been informed, it seems that there was a failure of care and basic judgment," she stated.

She added that she hoped the inquiry would be able to pinpoint what "the organization should have performed that might have saved Mother's life".
