Discover 29 Fresh Cards from Magic's TMNT Expansion (Featuring a Commander-Style Deck!)
Everyone's beloved pizza-loving heroes are making their way to the popular trading card game. The popular TCG's company, the game's creators, announced a highly anticipated Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles collaboration at a special event hosted at NYCC. Is this a radical new set or simply another Universes Beyond marketing move? Let you decide.
Take a look below at everything announced from the Magic x Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles collaboration, including some useful context. All items listed below launches on March 6th, 2026, except for one item — the Pizza Bundle arrives a few weeks later on March 27th.
Magic x TMNT: Main Set Reveals
Before we get into the many unique products and bundles available, let’s take a look at the full lineup from the core Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles expansion that were revealed by the developers. Play boosters for the set are priced at $6.99 each, while premium boosters are priced at $37.99 per pack.
Let’s explore a couple of surprising features. First, there's a new mechanic called Sneak, inspired by the already established Ninjutsu, in which players can cheat big creatures into the battlefield whenever an attacker isn’t blocked. The big difference here is that Sneak can apply to spells that aren’t creatures as well. Wizards also used this chance to clean up the ability a bit (It counts as casting, unlike Ninjutsu). The original ability is staying, but it's more likely players will encounter Sneak in upcoming expansions from now on.
Should we were to return to the Kamigawa plane, we might use the original ability because that plane is it was developed and it is iconic of that world,” an experienced game designer stated. “However in other settings, since the mechanics are smoother and the new ability will be Standard-legal, it's more likely we’ll use Sneak.”
Another version of the leader Turtle, Sewer Samurai, is among four cards with unique artwork designed specifically for the set by TMNT original artist the co-creator.
Additionally, if you're shocked by the rules text on Turtles Forever card, which lets you play cards that aren't in your deck, so was I. Yet as per the developers, it’s now a legal card in every format of Magic.
In any case, below are the extremely bizarre land cards with full art from this set:
Following Wizards of the Coast's existing guidelines, these cards are fully legal in Magic’s Standard format. Developers state they were careful to ensure the new cards and gameplay elements meshed well with current Standard expansions like Edge of Eternities.
“I led the development for over a year and we knew it was going to be in standard and which sets were going to be alongside it in standard,” a lead designer says. “We designed to ensure that they work well with some of those sets like Edge of Eternities.”
As an instance, each of TMNT and Edge of Eternities include a Izzet strategy focused on artifact cards.
“They combine to provide the pieces for a fun Standard-legal deck,” the designer added.
Preconstructed Commander: Turtle Power!
Following a decision to create any pre-constructed Commander decks for the Spider-Man set and the forthcoming Avatar: The Last Airbender expansions, the company is changing direction with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. It’s only a single precon, but it includes six distinct legendary cards that can serve as your commander depending on how you pair them (five of the cards have a special partner ability called “Character Select” that lets you start with two commanders in the command area instead of only one). Check them out for yourself:
This Commander deck is priced at $69.99, though the price may rise due to demand. Wizards told that it includes 43 brand-new cards in total, which means an extra 37 TMNT-themed cards besides the six legendary creatures pictured earlier. (Doing some rough math, that also means approximately 20 reprinted cards if we estimate the precon comes with 37 land cards.)
What will the Turtles version of the iconic Sol Ring appear? We’ll just have to wait and find out.
TMNT Bundle (Regular)
Typically, the company is selling a collection. This one is priced at $69.99 and includes the listed items:
- 9 Standard Boosters
- 15 Traditional foil basic lands
- Fifteen Regular land cards
- Two Reference cards
- 1 Foil promotional card
- 1 Large spindown life counter
- One Card-storage box
Pizza Bundle
Here’s a special idea for the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles collaboration, mostly in that it comes in what looks like a pizza delivery box. Every pizza-themed bundle is priced at $99.99 and includes the following:
- Nine Play Boosters
- One Premium Booster
- 25 Non-foil pizza-themed lands
- Five Traditional foil pizza basic lands
- Two Foil Pizza Bundle promo cards
- Two Reference cards
- One Large spindown life counter
- 1 Card-storage box
For those curious what a “Pizza Bundle promo card” means, it’s basically a reprinted older card with brand-new Turtle-themed artwork. Wizards showed an example for the well-known Magic card Dark Ritual featuring art of Splinter adding toppings on a pizza slice. In total, there are six distinct Pizza Bundle promo cards available.
This special bundle launches a few weeks after the main set on March 27, 2026.
Draft Bundle
This special bundle is designed for a four-person draft and is priced at $119.99. It includes:
- Twelve Standard Boosters (ideal for a group of four to draft)
- 1 Collector Booster (also known as, the reward for winning)
- 90 Non-foil land cards (for building your deck)
- Ten Non-foil token cards
- One drafting guide (a one-sheet instruction sheet to drafting the set)
Cooperative Play Set
Lastly, the developers are doing something new with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles as in line with its ongoing effort to create Magic products specifically for beginners. In this case, the cooperative set is a special set of decks that allow two players team up to face a “Boss” enemy deck that pilots itself.
The concept here that each Boss card gives special abilities to the creatures contained in the Boss deck. The Boss automatically casts an additional card per turn, and you’ll start off fighting {one Boss|
