NFL Recap: Denver Edge Struggling Jets in Low-Scoring Affair

During a defensive struggle this weekend, the Denver Broncos clinched a 13-11 victory over the struggling New York Jets. Signal-caller Bo Nix threw an early touchdown pass and kicker Wil Lutz provided the late decisive three-pointer to seal the hard-fought win.

Defensive Display Seals Contest

Even with registering nine sacks versus Jets QB Justin Fields, the Broncos found themselves trailing 11-10 following giving up a two-point play in the third quarter. Remarkably, the Jets could only produce just 82 offensive yards during the entire game.

The Denver quarterback, who went 19 of 30 attempts for 174 yards, led a decisive 12-play, 65-yard possession that culminated in Lutz's 27-yard field goal with just over five minutes left.

Historic Difficulties for Jets Offense

Despite their horrendous performance, the Jets still had possession with a opportunity to score a potential victory. However Fields was sacked on fourth-and-eight from the Denver 44 after head coach Aaron Glenn opted to attempt the conversion instead of sending out kicker Nick Folk for a difficult field-goal attempt.

Fields struggled all game, completing just 9 of 17 passes for 45 yards. The Jets finished with minus-10 passing yards, the lowest in any contest since 1998.

"The aerial attack was completely absent," the coach stated after the contest.
